Welcome to RecipeScaleAI ("we," "us," or "our"). We operate the website at https://recipescaleai.com (the "Service"), which provides recipe scaling, measurement conversion, and related kitchen tools.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding your data.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
Recipe Text (AI Scale Recipe feature): When you use our AI-powered recipe scaling tool, you paste recipe text into our input field. This text is sent to our AI processing service (OpenRouter / Google Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite) to parse and scale your recipe. We do not store your recipe text permanently. It is temporarily cached in Cloudflare KV storage for up to 7 days, then automatically deleted. We do not associate your recipe text with any persistent user identity.
Unit Conversion Inputs (Quick Convert, Oven Converter): These tools run entirely in your browser (client-side JavaScript). No data is sent to our servers.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
IP Address and Request Logs: Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, automatically collects IP addresses and basic request information for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention purposes. Cloudflare retains this for approximately 30 to 90 days.
Analytics Data — Plausible Analytics: We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. Plausible records aggregated page views, referral sources, browser types, and geographic regions (country level only). No personally identifiable information is collected by Plausible.
Analytics Data — Google Analytics 4 (GA4): We use GA4 to understand traffic patterns and page engagement. GA4 uses cookies and may collect pages visited, session duration, device and browser type, approximate geographic location (city level), and traffic source. GA4 data is retained for 14 months. You can opt out via our Cookie Banner or the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Behavior Analytics — Microsoft Clarity: We use Microsoft Clarity to analyze user experience through heatmaps and session recordings. Clarity may record your interactions, including text entered into input fields. If you paste recipe text while Clarity is active, that text may be captured in a session recording. Clarity data is retained for 90 days. You can opt out via our Cookie Banner.
2.3 Advertising and Affiliate Data
Google AdSense: We display advertisements provided by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website and other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings.
