What this calculator does
Most recipes come written for 4 servings. If you're cooking for 2, 6, or 12, you have to redo the math for every ingredient. This is tedious and error-prone — especially with mixed units (cups, tablespoons, grams) and fractional amounts.

Limits to know
Cooking times and pan sizes do not scale linearly — a 2x recipe usually doesn't take 2x the time, and a doubled cake batter often needs a larger pan or a different baking method. Use the scaled quantities as your guide, but apply your own cooking judgment to time and equipment.
